Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging at Christ School
Christ School’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) is grounded in the school’s Episcopal identity and in its mission “to produce educated men of good character, prepared for both scholastic achievement in college and productive citizenship in adult society.” As an Episcopal school we are called to love our neighbor and to respect the dignity of every human being. We strive to promote a culture that, through dialogue and respect, advances the dignity and well-being of each person and nurtures a genuine sense of belonging. We seek to understand, appreciate, and bridge our differences by learning about and engaging with diverse perspectives on challenging topics that provide opportunities for personal growth while strengthening our community.
We work toward our DEIB goals in everything we do, but a number of student groups on campus work specifically to carry out DEIB work. The Black Student Union (BSU), Multicultural Student Union, The Bridge, and Alliance Group all provide an opportunity for students to get involved in our DEIB work and find a place where they're most comfortable to discuss issues and more.
